The Russians have also lost 5,047 tanks, 9,557 armored combat vehicles and 7,012 artillery systems during their military campaign in Ukraine, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said on Friday, as cited by state news agency Ukrinform.
On Thursday alone, Ukrainian forces killed 1,380 Russian soldiers, according to the ukrinform.net website.
Other Russian losses in Ukraine include 822 multiple launch rocket systems, 548 air defense systems, 320 warplanes, 324 helicopters, 20 warships, and 5,326 unmanned aerial vehicles, ukrinform.net reported.
A top British military official said in the summer that "Russia has lost nearly half the combat effectiveness of its army" since invading Ukraine in February last year.
Russia invaded Ukraine on February 24, 2022, launching the largest military campaign in Europe since World War II.
Friday is day 604 of Russia’s war on Ukraine.
