"We are preparing for terrorist attacks on energy infrastructure," Zelensky said on Wednesday, as quoted by Ukrainian state news agencUkrinform.

He added: "This year we will not only defend ourselves but also respond. The enemy is well aware of this."

National Security and Defence Council Secretary Oleksiy Danilov has said that Ukraine's energy system is now better protected from Russian missile attacks than last year, thanks to new air defence equipment provided by the country's Western allies, Ukrinform reported.

More air defence systems are expected to arrive, some of which will be leased for as long as it takes for Ukraine to be able to defend its skies, Danilov was cited as saying.

Russia invaded Ukraine on February 24, 2022, launching the largest military campaign in Europe since World War II.

Thursday is day 610 of Russia’s war on Ukraine.
