The Russians have also lost 5,706 tanks, 10,654 armored combat vehicles and 8,099 artillery systems during their military campaign in Ukraine, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said on Friday, as cited by state news agency Ukrinform.

On Thursday alone, Ukrainian forces killed 1,090 Russian soldiers, according to the ukrinform.net website.

Other Russian losses in Ukraine include 920 multiple launch rocket systems, 605 air defense systems, 324 warplanes, 324 helicopters, 22 warships, and 6,226 unmanned aerial vehicles, ukrinform.net reported.

According to a declassified US intelligence report cited by the Reuters news agency this week, the war in Ukraine has resulted in 315,000 dead and injured Russian troops.

The casualty toll accounts for nearly 80 percent of the personnel Russia had when the conflict began, Reuters reported, citing a source familiar with the intelligence on Tuesday.

The report also assessed that Moscow's losses in personnel and armored vehicles to Ukraine's military have set back Russia’s military modernization by 18 years, the source said, according to Reuters.

A top British military official said in the summer that "Russia has lost nearly half the combat effectiveness of its army" since invading Ukraine in February last year.

Russia invaded Ukraine on February 24, 2022, launching the largest military conflict in Europe since World War II.

Friday is day 660 of Russias war on Ukraine.
