Earlier in the day, the president met with Prime Minister Donald Tusk at the presidential palace for talks on Poland's foreign policy.

Duda said afterwards he had told the prime minister that his talks with fellow world leaders at Davos would focus on the Ukrainian Peace Formula and Poland's national security, adding he would "urge allies to strengthen NATO's eastern flank."

The president will attend the 2024 World Economic Forum from Tuesday to Thursday, and on Tuesday is set to meet with NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg, attend an exhibition on the Russian war crimes in Ukraine and take part in a debate on foreign direct investment in central and eastern Europe.

On Wednesday, Duda will meet with Lithuanian President Gitanas Nausėda, Latvian President Edgars Rinkēvičs and Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenković, hold talks with UN Secretary General António Guterres and Vice-President of the European Commission for Values and Transparency Vĕra Jourova, and take part in a debate on The Imperatives and Challenges of European Connectivity in Global Turbulent Times.

On Thursday, Poland's president will speak at a debate on NATO and the Future of Deterrence and Defense on Europe’s Eastern Front.

The 2024 World Economic Forum will also include the Three Seas Hub, bringing together decisionmakers, business leaders and policy experts to discuss the future of the region between the Baltic, Adriatic and Black seas, according to Polish officials.

The World Economic Forum is a gathering of global political and business leaders, taking place annually in the Alpine town of Davos, Switzerland.

The 2024 World Economic Forum is held between January 15 and 19 under the theme Rebuilding Trust.

The event brings together "over 100 governments, all major international organizations and the Forum’s 1000 partner companies as well as civil society leaders, foremost experts, young changemakers, social entrepreneurs and the media," the organisers said.

Guests will include France's President Emmanuel Macron, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and US Secretary of State Antony Blinken, among others, according to officials.
