Russia lost 31,000 troops in Ukraine: report

Since invading Ukraine on February 24, Russia has lost some 30,950 soldiers and 1,367 tanks, Ukraine officials said on Friday.

The latest figures were announced by the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Polish state news agency PAP reported.

30,950 Russian casualties so far

According to the tally, posted on Facebook, the Russian military has suffered some 30,950 casualties (including around 100 on Thursday), while also losing 1,367 tanks (including four on Thursday) and 3,366 armoured vehicles (twelve on Thursday).

Ukraine destroys 210 Russian aeroplanes

In addition, the invading army has suffered the destruction of 210 aeroplanes, 175 helicopters and 675 artillery systems, among other losses, Ukraine said. 

Kyiv officials added that during Thursday’s fighting Russia incurred the biggest losses around the city of Bakhmut in the eastern Donetsk oblast.  

Friday is day 100 of Russia’s war on Ukraine.
