As Ukraine's forces are currently struggling against a more aggressive Russian assault, the second day of the Munich Security Conference is underway with discussions regarding further military assistance to this war-torn country. Kyiv’s authorities informed that the Ukrainian army is exhausted and lacks sufficient ammunition and heavy weapons, whileRussian missiles and drones continue to mercilessly attack civilians across Ukraine, Reuters reported.

Speaking at the annual Munich Security Conference, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg emphasized the "vital and pressing need" for the US to decide on a package for Ukraine. He urged the US to deliver “what they have promised to provide the necessary support to Ukraine,” public broadcaster Polish Radio’s IAR news agency reported.

He also said no member of the defense alliance is now at risk. "The world has become more dangerous but NATO has become stronger," Stoltenberg said.

"All NATO allies have increased their defense spending. This year, we expect 18 NATO members to meet the 2% target," he added.

The bill passed by the U.S. Senate on February 13 has not yet been taken up by the House of Representatives. If adopted, it would allow the immediate restart of shipments of weapons and ammunition for Ukrainian forces that have been suspended since December, according to Reuters.
