Stanowski, a journalist and businessman, began working with Telewizja Polska (TVP) when Jacek Kurski was CEO of the public broadcaster.

His company produced and supplied a political commentary show to TVP Sport for more than four years.

According to Onet.pl, in addition to payments to his company, Stanowski also earned fees appearing as a studio expert on TVP programs.

Controversy during presidential debate

During a presidential debate at TVP’s Warsaw headquarters on Monday, Stanowski hit out at the program’s co-host, Dorota Wysocka-Schnepf, accusing her of biased journalism.

Despite attempts by his campaign staff to prevent Wysocka-Schnepf from hosting, she remained on air. The exchange highlighted ongoing political tensions over media impartiality in Poland.

Media bias and political clashes

During the PiS administration, TVP was widely criticized for acting as a government-aligned propaganda outlet. This has raised questions about Stanowski’s relationship with the state broadcaster.

Stanowski acknowledged his past work with TVP, saying that he produced and managed his own show. He said he was initially paid about PLN 4,000 per episode, with a raise to PLN 6,000 in later months.

Since the start of his presidential campaign, Stanowski has often urged voters not to back him, treating his candidacy ironically and using his YouTube channel, Kanał Zero, to highlight what he sees as the absurdities of Poland’s electoral system and political scene.

According to a report by Polish daily Gazeta Wyborcza, Stanowski received substantial financial support from public institutions under the previous PiS government.
