According to the magazine’s findings, Czarnek, a member of the populist Law and Justice party (PiS) and a lawyer by training, was previously considered for the position under outgoing President Andrzej Duda.

PiS is assisting President-elect Karol Nawrocki in assembling the team for the new administration.

The party aims to place its people in the Presidential Palace; these officials will not only serve as presidential staff but also act as liaisons with PiS headquarters, Newsweek Polska says.

The most important positions will be filled by individuals closely connected to PiS.

Paweł Szefernaker will serve as the president’s chief of staff, a plan publicly confirmed by Nawrocki himself on TV Republika.

Karol Rabenda, a PiS politician like Czarnek and Szefernaker who has known Karol Nawrocki well for many years, is likely to be appointed deputy head of the President's Office.
