Poles living permanently abroad, as well as those temporarily traveling outside Poland on election day, must submit their applications today to be included in overseas voter lists.

Registration is required to vote in the first round on May 18 and, if necessary, in the runoff on June 1. Applications can be filed in writing or electronically via the Polish Foreign Ministry’s “e-wybory” platform.

Voters can use either a valid passport or an ID card, depending on entry requirements of the host country. Those on Polish-flagged ships must submit their applications to the ship’s captain by the same deadline.

In case of travel changes between election rounds, voters must re-register in their new location. For foreign voting districts, the deadline to change the polling place is May 27, while in Poland it is May 29.

An alternative for voters abroad is to request a voting certificate, which allows voting in any polling station globally or on a Polish ship.

Applications for such certificates are open until May 15 for the first round and until May 29 for the potential second round.

These must be submitted in person with a handwritten signature to any municipal office, though authorization of another person for collection is possible.
