Speaking at the convention, PSL leader Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz said farmers and food producers in Poland were not appreciated enough.

As he said, traditional food products were a "national treasure and a national good, and must be promoted everywhere where possible". In his opinion, one of the solutions for Polish agriculture and production of ecological food was direct marketing and zero VAT. He also focused on unblocking trade with the east, because - as he said - there were "wagons of shame" with coal imported from Russia, constituting an environmental threat, while Polish apples, "apples from Sandomierz", were not being sent eastwards.

Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz presented renewable energy production as a source of future income and financial backing for funding social programmes, saying that "the green side of the force would be a flywheel driving the Polish economy".

Poland is holding a general election on October 13.
