The ruling Law and Justice (PiS) party, allied with two smaller groupings in a United Right coalition, secured a second term in power in the parliamentary ballot on October 13.
The new coalition agreement has been signed by Law and Justice chief Jarosław Kaczyński; Jarosław Gowin, head of the smaller Porozumienie (Agreement) grouping; and by Zbigniew Ziobro, leader of the Solidarna Polska party, PiS official Krzysztof Sobolewski said on Thursday.
Sobolewski said the contents of the deal would not be made public.
The three parties’ previous coalition agreement expired on November 11.
The United Right coalition together won 235 seats in Poland’s 460-member lower house and 48 seats in the 100-member Senate, the upper house.
The Agreement party led by Gowin, a deputy prime minister and science and higher education minister, has 18 lower-house deputies and two senators, the same number as Solidarna Polska led by Ziobro, who is Poland’s justice minister and prosecutor-general.
