President Andrzej Duda and First Lady Agata Kornhauser-Duda on Tuesday wished Poles a happy Christmas in the company of their loved ones.

“On the occasion of Christmas, we would like to extend our most heartfelt wishes to all Polish people at home and abroad,” the president said in a video message.

“May we reunite and reconnect as we gather at the Christmas table, and let us remember our beautiful Polish traditions as we sing carols together,” he added.

The president also appealed to Poles to “remember about those in need this Christmas.”

“Let us show warmth and kindness to those who may not be able to experience such feelings on a daily basis,” he said.

The first lady earlier this month backed Polish Radio’s Christmas charity drive in which items donated by artists, athletes and celebrities were auctioned on air by the public broadcaster to benefit the needy.

The Polish presidential couple at the end of last month threw their support behind an annual food collection drive that aimed to help the needy in the run-up to Christmas.
