A 52-year-old woman and her 15-year-old daughter were named as the two fatalities in the ski resort of Bukowina Tatrzańska, near the border with Slovakia, amid an outbreak of extreme weather.
The incident occurred after fierce winds of up to 105 kilometres per hour hit Poland’s southern Tatra Mountains at the start of this week, public broadcaster Polish Radio’s IAR news agency reported.

Two other injuries were previously reported nationwide as strong winds battered parts of Poland on the night from Sunday to Monday, snapping trees and damaging roofs.
