Polish President Duda tests positive for coronavirus

Polish President Andrzej Duda has tested positive for the new coronavirus, the presidential spokesman announced in a tweet on Saturday.

Despite the infection, Poland's president is in good health, presidential minister Błażej Spychalski wrote on Twitter.

"The President is feeling well. We are in regular contact with the relevant medical services," the tweet reads.

Following the news, presidential aide Krzysztof Szczerski said that the Presidential Chancellery would now follow sanitary procedures and most probably conduct contact tracing, the Polish News Agency PAP has reported.

Later on Saturday, the Polish head of state posted a video on his Twitter account in which the President said he wasn't experiencing any symptoms. Also, he assured he would self-isolate immediately and work remotely.
