Fifteen crews have been deployed to the site, firefighters said, without providing information about what caused the blast at the Nitroerg plant in the town of Bieruń.
Nitroerg, owned by Polish state-run copper producer KGHM, is Poland’s largest manufacturer of explosives for civilian use and one of the largest in Europe.
State news agency PAP reported that there was no blaze at the plant.
