Heavy snowfall causes problems in Poland

Heavy snowfall across Poland on Monday caused trains to be cancelled, problems with public transport and a string of accidents.

Weather forecasters warned that this week would bring snowstorms, along with sub-zero temperatures and strong winds, as the country shivers under a wintry spell.

Four trucks were involved in a collision on Monday on the A2 motorway near the western city of Poznań, causing delays.

In Warsaw, drivers complained of slow moving traffic on major arteries including the Wisłostrada route through the capital, while passengers fretted, wondering when public transport would arrive.
