Poland confirms 415 new coronavirus cases, 38 more deaths

Poland on Saturday reported 415 new coronavirus infections and 38 more deaths, bringing the country's total number of cases during the pandemic to 2,874,824 and fatalities to 74,139.

Of the new confirmed cases, the most - 54 - were in the western province of Wielkopolskie, which is home to the major city of Poznań.

The latest deaths in Poland’s coronavirus outbreak are 30 people with pre-existing medical conditions and eight who died directly because of COVID-19, the Polish health ministry said.

On April 8, the country reported its highest daily toll of 954 deaths related to the coronavirus.

On April 1, the Polish health ministry confirmed 35,251 new single-day cases, the most since the pandemic hit the country more than a year ago.

Poland's first case of coronavirus infection was reported on March 4, 2020.
