Poland confirms 133 new coronavirus cases,5 more deaths

Poland on Sunday  reported 133 new coronavirus infections and 5 more deaths related to COVID-19, bringing the country's total number of cases during the pandemic to 2,878,767 and fatalities to 74,828.

Of the new cases confirmed on Sunday 21 were reported in the southern Silesian region and 15 in the central region of Mazowieckie.

Meanwhile, the least number of new infections were reported in the Lubuskie and Warmia and Mazury  provinces, with two and one case respectively.

The health ministry informed that 1,453  COVID-19 patients were in hospitals nationwide, down from 1,534  recorded on Saturday.  238 of the patients on ventilators, with a further 63,662 people quarantined for possible coronavirus exposure.

Meanwhile, 2,650,476  people have now recovered from COVID-19 throughout the country, the health ministry informed Sunday morning.

A total of 26,422,469 COVID-19 vaccine shots have been administered in Poland so far, with 11,136,832 people having been fully vaccinated, health ministry data shows.
