Polish president set to fly to Tokyo

Polish President Andrzej Duda is set to travel to Tokyo as the Japanese city prepares to host the Summer Olympics.

A detailed program of Duda’s visit is not yet available, but officials say he will hold talks with other international leaders expected to arrive in Japan for the opening ceremonies of the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.

According to public broadcaster Polish Radio’s IAR news agency, Duda’s itinerary includes a meeting with Japanese Emperor Naruhito.

The opening ceremony of the Tokyo Olympics will be held at the city’s National Stadium on Friday.

The Games will last until August 8. Poland is sending a team of more than 210 athletes.
