Andrzej Duda made the statement on Twitter in the early hours of Tuesday, the state PAP news agency reported.
As the Russian invasion of Ukraine entered its thirteenth day, the Polish head of state tweeted: “If the VVP [Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin] thinks, that by tearing down houses and killing civilians, he will break the will and spirit of the Ukrainians, he is wrong.”
Duda added: “As President Volodymyr Zelensky told me, every destroyed house and every victim killed increases the resistance of the Defenders and the will to win.”
The Polish president is set to host the US Vice President Kamala Harris and Canada’s Prime Minister Justin Trudeau on Thursday, officials told reporters.
The Duda-Harris talks will focus on Russia’s war against Ukraine and collective efforts to support the people of Ukraine, the White House announced last week.
Meanwhile, the Polish head of state’s meeting with the Canadian PM will explore options for Canada's assistance in accepting refugees from war-torn Ukraine, public broadcaster Polish Radio’s IAR news agency reported.
Poland has admitted nearly 1.1 million refugees fleeing Russia's invasion of Ukraine, the Polish Border Guard agency reported on Monday.
