Polish Foreign Minister Zbigniew Rau said on Tuesday that a visit by Biden to Poland "seems very much probable," Poland's PAP news agency reported.
"It is hard to imagine a better place to mark the position of the United States and the alliance as a whole than Poland, the strongest link on the eastern flank," Rau said.
The Reuters news agency quoted an EU official as saying that Biden would "in all likelihood" join a summit of European Union leaders in Brussels on March 24 to discuss the conflict in Ukraine.
Meanwhile, the White House confirmed that Biden would attend an "extraordinary" summit of NATO leaders in Brussels on March 24 to discuss Russia's invasion of Ukraine, according to Reuters.
NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg said on Twitter that the summit would "address Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, our strong support for Ukraine, and further strengthening NATO’s deterrence and defence."
He added: "At this critical time, North America and Europe must continue to stand together."
White House spokeswoman Jen Psaki declined to comment when asked on Tuesday if Biden would also visit Poland, saying details of the trip were still being worked out, Reuters reported.
