The Polish border-guard plane was on an official mission for FRONTEX (the border guard department of the European Union), when the Russian jet approached it three times, causing the Polish plane to lose altitude at one point.
The FRONTEX mission was being coordinated by Romania.
Stanisłąw Żaryn, Government Spokesman for Information Security, said on Sunday that this was yet another case of Russia threatening Poland and attempting to escalate tensions between the countries.
