Mariusz Kamiński announced the latest arrest via social media on Monday, the Reuters news agency reported.
The interior minister said in a tweet: “The Internal Security Agency has detained another member of the spy network working for Russian intelligence.”
Kamiński added: “The suspect conducted surveillance of military facilities and seaports. He was systematically paid by the Russians.”
The man, a citizen of Ukraine, was detained on June 21 and charged with “participation in an organised crime group” and “working for foreign intelligence against the interests of Poland,” Polish state news agency PAP reported.
The charges carry a prison sentence of up to 10 years, according to the National Public Prosecutor's Office.
A court has ordered that the man be detained for three months, the PAP news agency reported.
Last month, Poland detained a Russian professional ice-hockey player on charges of espionage, news outlets reported at the time.
In March, Poland announced it had dismantled a Russian spy network and detained nine people, who it said had been preparing acts of sabotage, conducting anti-Polish propaganda and monitoring rail routes to Ukraine, according to news reports.
Russia invaded Ukraine on February 24, 2022, launching the largest military campaign in Europe since World War II.
Monday is day 502 of Russia’s war on Ukraine.
