"On Monday, December 18, 2023, I hosted William Burns, director of the CIA," Siemoniak said in a post on the X social media platform.

"We discussed the ongoing cooperation between Poland and the United States in the realm of security, with a particular focus on the context of the war in Ukraine," he added.

Siemoniak also posted that he and Burns "talked about the challenges for NATO" ahead of the alliance's upcoming summit in Washington next year.

"We emphasized our common will to maintain the closest possible cooperation between our countries' secret services," he said.

Russia invaded Ukraine on February 24, 2022, launching the largest military campaign in Europe since World War II.

Tuesday is day 664 of Russia’s war on Ukraine.
