Until the review is completed, all training involving explosives and munitions has been suspended, with exceptions for missions abroad and ongoing training involving Ukrainian soldiers.

The decision follows recent tragic incidents, including the death in an avalanche of a soldier during special forces training in the Tatra Mountains and of two sappers from the 5th Tarnogórski Chemical Regiment during exercises in the southern Silesia region.

The regiment's press officer, Maj. Arkadiusz Kustra, said: "Both soldiers of the 5th Regiment, who died in Monday's accident in Solarnia, Lubliniec County, were 36 years old. They were professional soldiers holding the ranks of private and senior corporal. Engineering and sapper training was being conducted, which every one of our soldiers undergoes once a year."

Earlier this month, an accident at the Drawsko Pomorskie training ground resulted in the death of two soldiers after a military vehicle ran over them.

The General Staff of the Polish Army and the General Command of the Armed Forces are tasked with the review, aiming to enhance the safety of military training.

The families of the deceased soldiers have been notified and are receiving psychological support and assistance from the military, according to officials.

Kosiniak-Kamysz expressed his condolences to the families of the victims, stressing the importance of understanding the circumstances leading to these accidents and ensuring such incidents do not recur.
