Kickoff is scheduled for 8:45 p.m. local time.

Neither team qualified for the upcoming World Cup in the United States, Canada and Mexico, which begins on June 11.

Nigeria failed to qualify despite a strong squad, while Poland, coached by Jan Urban, were eliminated after a 2-3 away defeat to Sweden in a playoff final earlier this week.

The match will mark only the second meeting between the two sides. In their previous encounter, also a friendly, Poland lost 0-1 to Nigeria in Wrocław in March 2018.

The early June international window will allow teams not participating in the World Cup to play friendly matches and maintain competitive form.

Poland are expected to play another friendly a few days after the Nigeria game, possibly on June 7, although the opponent and exact date have yet to be confirmed.

Looking ahead, Poland are set to compete in six matches in the second division of the UEFA Nations League in the second half of 2026.

PZPN head Cezary Kulesza has said that coach Jan Urban will remain in charge, with his contract set to be extended.

Poland’s confirmed fixtures for the remainder of 2026 include Nations League matches against Bosnia and Herzegovina, Sweden and Romania, followed by the draw for the Euro 2028 qualifiers in Belfast, Northern Ireland, on December 6.
