During the event, President Andrzej Duda awarded individuals who have made significant contributions to the nation with certificates of Polish citizenship.

Moreover, he presented orders to those recognized for their efforts in supporting Polish communities abroad.

"We look at it with emotion, we are proud of it," the President said of the Polish flag.

"It was the white and red that became the colours of the Solidarity flag”, he noted.

"It is under these colors that we sing our national anthem, it is the white and red flag that is hoisted when our athletes win on the world stage”, he added.

The President also shared that, during visits abroad, he was often moved to see homes adorned with Polish flags — symbols of families who, in his words, “feel a lasting bond with Poland and with their Polish identity.”

He also thanked members of the Polish diaspora for raising successive generations, building economic ties, and fostering connections between professional groups.

Earlier in the day, Duda participated in a flag-hoisting ceremony at Warsaw's Royal Castle.

During  the ceremonies, the President was accompanied by the First Lady, Agata Kornhauser-Duda.
