Held by the nationalist opposition, the protest drew demonstrators from across Poland who voiced their resistance to the EU migration pact and called for the reinstatement of full border control between Poland and Germany.
They carried red and white national flags and chanted slogans such as: "Wake up, Poland"; "Always be a Pole, not a traitor or leftist"; "We don't want economic migrants from Germany or EU"

Migration is a divisive issue in the central European country ahead of the May 18 election.
The protesters made their way towards the seat of government in central Warsaw, chanting the name of nationalist presidential candidate Karol Nawrocki.
The 42-year-old fan of US President Donald Trump has the backing of the right-wing opposition Law and Justice party and outgoing President Andrzej Duda.
He is polling second in the presidential race, with around 25 percent support.
The frontrunner, Warsaw's pro-European Union Mayor Rafal Trzaskowski, has the support of PM Donald Tusk's Civic Coalition and is polling on around 30 percent.
If none of the candidates crosses the 50% threshold in the first round, a second vote will be held on June 1 between the two top candidates.
Poland currently hosts around one million refugees from the war in neighbouring Ukraine, and has accused Russia and Belarus of orchestrating a wave of immigration into the European Union member.
