A total of 255,517 Polish students and 636 Ukrainian graduates took the exam in May, as is traditional in Poland, marking the end of secondary education.

Of those who failed, 13 percent are eligible to retake the exam in September.

The best results were achieved in the basic-level English exam, with 1,248 top performers exempted from testing due to success in national subject Olympiads.

Additionally, thousands of students scored between 90 and 100 percent across mandatory and optional exams, highlighting strong performances despite the overall failure rate.
