The politician said police, the Military Gendarmerie, Territorial Defence Forces, and operational troops are actively investigating the scene.
Three possible explanations under investigation
“All possibilities must be considered,” Kosiniak-Kamysz said, noting Poland’s proximity to the ongoing full-scale conflict in Ukraine.
Kosiniak-Kamysz outlined three main possibilities: the object could have been a Russian drone, a smuggling drone, or an act of sabotage on Polish territory.
According to preliminary radar analyses, Poland’s airspace was not violated from either Ukraine or Belarus. “This is one hypothesis. Drones are small objects, and this one does not yet show clear signs of being military,” the minister added. He also referenced similar drone incidents in Lithuania and Romania.
The Operational Command of the Armed Forces confirmed that radar records showed no breach of Polish airspace during the incident. Investigations are ongoing to verify the object’s origin and nature.
