The leaders also addressed the Polish community in Canada, numbering over one million, and current international issues, notably the situation in Ukraine and ongoing peace talks.

The decision drew reproach, among others, from Poland’s Minister of Family, Labour and Social Policy, Agnieszka Dziemianowicz-Bąk, who emphasized that the benefit is intended to support children, who should not be penalized for their parents’ employment status, and described the president’s move as lacking basic decency.
