Since taking office on August 6, President Nawrocki has already met with key global figures, including U.S. President Donald Trump and Pope Leo XIV during a visit to Rome, where he also held talks with Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni.
The visit to Vilnius will begin Monday morning at the Lithuanian Presidential Palace. Nawrocki and Nausėda will hold bilateral talks, initially in a restricted format, followed by a plenary session involving both nations’ delegations. A joint press conference with both presidents is also scheduled.
In the afternoon, both leaders will visit the Gate of Dawn (Ostra Brama), a significant spiritual and historical site in Vilnius. President Nawrocki will then visit two major cemeteries that hold deep significance for both Polish and Lithuanian history.
At Antakalnis Cemetery, he will lay flowers at the Memorial to the Fallen for Lithuania’s Independence, commemorating victims of the Soviet crackdown in January 1991, as well as at the section dedicated to Polish soldiers.
While in Vilnius, the Polish president will also meet with Saulius Skvernelis, Speaker of the Lithuanian Parliament (Seimas), and will attend a ceremony at the Polish Embassy where he will engage with representatives of the Polish minority living in Lithuania.
Helsinki Visit
On Monday evening, President Nawrocki will depart for Helsinki. On Tuesday morning, he will meet Finnish President Alexander Stubb, following a similar format: bilateral talks, a broader meeting with government delegations, and a joint press conference.
Later, Nawrocki will meet Jussi Halla-aho, Speaker of the Finnish Parliament, as part of ongoing efforts to deepen Poland’s relations with its northern European partners.
