The command said aircraft were activated around 4 a.m. local time and ground-based air defense and radar systems were put on alert. Operations ended several hours later after Russian attacks subsided.
“No violations of Polish airspace were detected,” the command said in a statement on social media platform X.
It thanked NATO allies for assistance, citing Royal Netherlands Air Force F-35 fighters that helped patrol Polish skies and German Patriot systems strengthening air defenses.
Polish forces continue to monitor the situation in Ukraine and remain on standby, the command added.
