Weighing just over four grams, the piece is a symbol of the annual fundraiser supporting sick children. It was sold for PLN 1.3 million (EUR 305,000) to benefit paediatric haematology and oncology.
“This is one of the most important moments in our history,” said WOŚP founder Jerzy Owsiak on Monday.
“The amount raised is astronomical. With that kind of money, we can buy real medical equipment for prevention and treatment,” he added.

The item is particularly special as it had previously flown into space with Uznański-Wiśniewski, who eagerly joined the charity initiative.
Speaking about his involvement, the astronaut, a member of the European Space Agency, said: “I can choose one charity to work with in my career. WOŚP is a symbol of Poland, one of the largest organisations in the country, and my choice was clear.”
Dobrzycki said that while the auction set a high standard for philanthropists, the ultimate goal was supporting children’s cancer care.
