Tusk made the announcement as officials and experts gathered at Warsaw’s Copernicus Science Centre to discuss policy priorities, including security, energy and economic competitiveness.

He told reporters the decision followed a panel discussion focused on developing Poland’s space sector.

“We are talking about the future—not with our heads in the clouds, but by looking boldly to the sky and making decisions,” Tusk said, speaking alongside astronaut Sławosz Uznański-Wiśniewski.

Tusk said Poland had “plenty of talented people” and “adequate resources” to ensure the success of such projects.

He described the planned centre as one of the key needs of Poland’s space industry and a vital component of the nation’s broader security strategy.
