According to Poland’s state news agency PAP, the items found on Wednesday included two F1 hand grenades, a 75mm artillery shell, two detonators, and 9mm small arms ammunition.
The school has been closed since Thursday while specialists secured the site.
Police spokesperson Adam Wojciński from the Września County Police Headquarters confirmed that the evacuation was necessary to safely remove and transport the munitions
The local police later stated that the operation went as planned.
Officials said nearby residents were also temporarily evacuated as a precaution, with shelter provided at the town’s cultural centre. The operation was completed by around 10:30 a.m., and residents were expected to return later in the day.
