„Dear American friends, Europe is your closest ally, not your problem. And we have common enemies. At least that’s how it has been in the last 80 years. We need to stick to this, this is the only reasonable strategy of our common security. Unless something has changed”

- Prime Minister Tusk wrote on Saturday on X, posting in English.

The Polish government head's entry was a reaction to the Friday-published new US Security Strategy, also amplified by the US DOD chief Pete Hegseth in his Saturday speech. In short - Donald Trump's administration started to officially put itself at odds with the European Union, painting it as "root of all evil" almost, being some oppressive and barely livable place on the verge of civilizational collapse.

Needless to say, such accusations are completely baseless, as in most aspects defining the quality of living the EU ranks far above the US. At the same time, the US publication barely mentioned Russia - apart from pointing out that Europe has to somehow normalize its relations with Moscow - mainly because surprisingly for numerous commentators, improving them found its way to the new list of America's top strategic goals.

In the face of all this - it's easy to understand why the Polish PM's fitting comment on X got so much traction. According to the Res Futura European Analytical Collective data, Donald Tusk's entry was the most engaging socio-political one globally on December 6 and 7. It garnered over 21 million views, surpassing, among others, several posts by Elon Musk, Hungarian Prime Minister Victor Orban, and EU Foreign Policy Chief Kaja Kallas.
