"I convened an urgent meeting today with the foreign ministers of the Council of the Baltic Sea States. The topic is obvious: Europe’s security and the war in Ukraine," Sikorski wrote on X.
The talks were held online.
The Council of the Baltic Sea States (CBSS) was created in 1992 and includes Poland, Germany, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Iceland, Lithuania, Latvia, Norway and Sweden, along with the EU.
Poland took over the council’s rotating presidency in July.
The group serves as a forum for political dialogue among Baltic region governments and coordinates cooperation on issues ranging from environmental protection and energy to transport and education.
