One of the animals, found about 10 kilometres from the so-called ‘zero boar’ site, tested negative for the virus.

Chief Veterinary Officer Paweł Majer told the public broadcaster Polish Radio that searches are ongoing in the area for other dead animals.

The Ministry of Agriculture has reminded the public that the ban on hunting applies only within a designated zone, covering a 10-kilometre radius around the location where the first infected boar was found.

Last week, the Minister of Agriculture reported that a partially skinned boar carcass had been discovered in the municipality of Rozprza, also in central Poland.

Authorities suspect the carcass may have been deliberately placed there. The case is being investigated jointly by veterinary services, the Internal Security Agency (ABW), the police, and the public prosecutor’s office.
