The so-called RCB Alert is part of the “Syrena-25” exercises, which involve the use of emergency sirens. Authorities have urged residents to remain calm.

The signals will be purely test alerts. During the exercises, a continuous one-minute sound will mark both the activation and cancellation of the alert.

Mazovia’s provincial office explained that the sirens do not indicate any real danger.

Their purpose is to check the functioning of the warning and alert system, as well as to test internal emergency response procedures.

What should be included in an emergency evacuation bag?

A few days before the exercise, safety and crisis management officials shared guidance on social media about what should be included in an emergency evacuation bag.

According to the safety guide, it should contain: copies of important documents and prescriptions, everyday medications, basic first aid supplies such as plasters and bandages, a charged flashlight, food, water, a change of dry clothes, a towel, a raincoat, paper maps, a compass, a radio, a knife, a lighter, batteries, a power bank, or a solar panel.
