The elite aeromobile unit is setting up a dedicated DronLab, an internal laboratory that will focus on building and refining unmanned systems and developing standards for their use on the battlefield. The initiative also includes a new training centre for drone instructors, whose graduates will pass on skills across the armed forces.
The DronLab grew out of a bottom-up effort by soldiers who began experimenting with drone construction in their own time, later expanding their work with tools such as 3D printers. The project has now been formalised within the brigade’s structure.
The initial DronLab team will number up to 30 personnel, with plans to expand beyond 100 posts over time. Military officials say the unit is expected to serve as a model for similar drone laboratories in other formations.
Alongside production, the brigade aims to standardise drone training and operations across Poland’s land forces, reflecting the growing role of unmanned systems in modern warfare.
