The suspect, identified only as Ralf G. under Polish privacy laws, was arrested in the south-central Świętokrzyskie province by officers from Poland’s Central Bureau of Police Investigation (CBŚP), state news agency PAP reported.
Investigators searched buildings and rooms used by the suspect and seized electronic devices and other items, CBŚP spokesman Krzysztof Wrześniowski said.
The operation was carried out with the assistance of the US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the Defense Criminal Investigative Service (DCIS), according to a statement.
Ralf G., who holds Polish and German citizenship, is suspected of fraud as well as "active and passive bribery linked to the execution of contracts for NATO and the US government," according to Polish authorities.
Procedures are underway to extradite him to the United States, the PAP news agency reported.
