Services to Dubai are cancelled until March 4, to Riyadh until March 8 and to Tel Aviv until March 15.

The airline said the decision was taken in response to the evolving situation in the region and on the recommendation of the European Union Aviation Safety Agency.

LOT spokesman Krzysztof Moczulski confirmed the cancellations on Monday.

Passenger safety remains the carrier's top priority, the airline said.

It added that staff were in active contact with affected travellers, helping them rebook on other carriers or find alternative routes back to Warsaw.

The suspensions follow Saturday's strikes, which prompted multiple countries across the region to close their airspace.

A LOT flight bound for Dubai was forced to turn back to Warsaw on Saturday morning.

Several other major carriers have also halted services to the region, among them Wizz Air, Lufthansa, Air France, KLM, Turkish Airlines and Qatar Airways.
