In a post on X, Rose accused Czarzasty, Speaker of the Sejm, Poland’s lower house of parliament, of deliberately stoking tensions between the two countries.
"The aim of his inflammatory rhetoric disparaging the President of the United States can only be to damage U.S.–Poland ties, and weaken his own country," the ambassador wrote, adding that as "a notorious far-left, ex-communist apparatchik," Czarzasty's behaviour should perhaps come as no surprise.
The reaction was sparked by remarks Czarzasty made to the Financial Times, in which he called US President Donald Trump "a leader of chaos" whose behaviour is "absolutely irrational".
The post also follows Rose's earlier decision to cut off contact with the Speaker over comments Czarzasty made about Trump, which the ambassador described as "outrageous".
At the time, Rose warned that the Speaker's statements posed a serious obstacle to what he called the "excellent" relationship between the US administration and Prime Minister Donald Tusk's government.
