"The president does not want regulation, does not want the security of citizens," Kosiniak-Kamysz said after parliament again failed to override the veto on Friday, falling short of the required 263 votes with only 243 in favour.

The bill would have implemented the EU's MiCA regulation, giving Poland's financial regulator KNF powers to suspend or ban public crypto offerings.

The minister warned that leaving the market unregulated was "very dangerous and very harmful" for ordinary savers and investors.

"The government will keep trying to tighten the market," Kosiniak-Kamysz said, vowing not to yield to "the lobby that wants no oversight over ventures that clearly need financial regulation".

He drew a clear political line: the ruling coalition in favour of the rules, with opposition parties Law and Justice (PiS) and Konfederacja against.

He also noted that PiS leader Jarosław Kaczyński did not participate in the vote, calling it "symptomatic".

Earlier, Prime Minister Tusk publicly asked whether Kaczyński knew his deputy had received money from Zondacrypto, Poland's largest crypto exchange, which is currently under a prosecutor's investigation.
