"We are talking about the first official visit. I know the plans are for it to happen in May," Niemczycki told RMF FM radio, adding that he did not want to disclose a specific date.

Hungary’s parliamentary election on April 12 brought a major political shift, ending 16 years of rule by Prime Minister Viktor Orbán and his Fidesz party.

The inaugural session of the new parliament is scheduled for Saturday. Lawmakers are expected to take their oaths, establish parliamentary groups and committees, and elect parliamentary leaders before voting to formally appoint the new prime minister.

Following the vote, Magyar is due to take the oath of office and address lawmakers.

During the election campaign, Magyar repeatedly said he wanted "Poland to be the destination of his first foreign trip as prime minister." He accused Orbán of "damaging Polish-Hungarian relations by serving Russian interests and pledged to rebuild ties between the two countries."
