The military police, under the supervision of a prosecutor from the District Prosecutor's Office in Gdańsk, are investigating the circumstances surrounding the discovery, Lt. Col. Dariusz Rozkosz, spokesman for the chief commander of the military police, said.
Authorities were notified at about 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday after a passerby found an object resembling a drone, police said.
Officers were sent to the site, where they secured the area and notified prosecutors, police spokeswoman Agnieszka Selewska told Poland’s PAP news agency.
The military said it would provide further information as the investigation progresses.
Private broadcaster RMF FM reported that the device was about 2 metres long.
