Military police and other security agencies were investigating the circumstances surrounding the discovery, Polish state news agency PAP reported.
Police in Lubaczów, a small town near the border with Ukraine, received a report shortly after 1 p.m. that an object resembling an unmanned aircraft had been found on an uninhabited property, Piotr Wojtunik, a spokesman for regional police, said in a post on X.
The discovery was confirmed by Lt. Col. Dariusz Rozkosz, a spokesman for the military police.
"An unidentified object was found on a private property in the town of Lubaczów," Rozkosz said.
Authorities notified the Internal Security Agency (ABW), the Military Counterintelligence Service (SKW), military police and the Lubaczów district prosecutor's office.
"No one was injured as a result of the object's fall, and there was no property damage," Rozkosz wrote.
He said security personnel were "carrying out measures aimed at eliminating any threat to human life and health."
He promised to "provide updates on the findings on an ongoing basis."
