A total of 14 horses, bred at sites including the famed state-run stud farm in Janów Podlaski, sold at the auction on Sunday.
Galerida, a mare bred at Michałów, another well-known farm in Poland, fetched this year's highest bid: EUR 400,000.
“The auction is a clear success for Polish Arabian horse breeding,” Polish Agriculture Minister Jan Krzysztof Ardanowski was quoted as saying by state news agency PAP.
Last year, only six horses were sold at the auction, fetching a combined EUR 501,000.
In 2017, six of 25 horses up for sale were bought for a total of EUR 410,000.
In 2016, of 31 horses on auction, 16 were sold for nearly EUR 1.3 million in total.
A record EUR 1.4 million was paid in 2015 for 10-year-old mare Pepita, with the auction bringing a combined EUR 4 million.
