This year, the bonus will total PLN 1,200 (EUR 282, USD 313).
The move was promised by Poland’s ruling conservative Law and Justice party ahead of parliamentary elections in October. The party won the ballot to secure a second term in power.
Last year, the Polish parliament passed a law to grant pensioners an annual bonus of PLN 1,100, with 9.8 million people benefiting.
That law stipulated that the additional money would be paid out in 2019 rather than every year.
Next year the government plans to give pensioners two such extra bonuses, state news agency PAP reported.
